Founded by award-winning chef Daniel Schreiber, his wife Stephanie, and founding Executive Chef Jeffrey Hanlon, Alchmy is a design-forward hospitality group that redefines what dining can be: immersive, mobile, emotionally resonant, and executed with world-class precision.

Chef Daniel brings over two decades of experience in Michelin-starred kitchens in New York and Chicago, where he trained under culinary icons like Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Grant Achatz. His refined technique, creative discipline, and visionary approach shaped the foundation of Alchmy’s culinary identity. In 2025, he received international recognition with the prestigious “Chef of the Future” award.

VP of Guest Experience & Service

As Alchmy’s Vice President of Guest Experience & Service, Chris James leads both the beverage program and the front-of-house service culture. A renowned mixologist and sommelier, he designs tailored cocktail and wine experiences that complement Alchmy’s Michelin-level cuisine, while mentoring the service team to deliver warm, polished hospitality at every event.

Chris believes every pour should tell a story, transforming a simple drink into a memorable moment. His role ensures that from the first welcome cocktail to the final toast, Alchmy’s service feels personal, refined, and truly crafted for the moment

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that people always remember how you make them feel. My past experiences showed me that the simplest gestures, like truly listening and showing genuine care can create deep connections. Those moments taught me to always prioritize kindness, warmth, and personal attention with every client interaction.

My passion for cooking was sparked early on, rooted in the warmth of family gatherings and holiday traditions. Growing up, I watched both of my grandmothers bring our family together around the table through their incredible feasts. Their dedication and love for feeding others planted the first seed of understanding how powerful food could be, not just as sustenance, but as a connector of people and memories.

Is there an element of your culinary heritage or personal style that you infuse into each event to add a special, personal touch for guests?

Of course. Not being classically trained, my culinary journey has shaped an avant-garde style grounded in over 20 years of experience across Italian, French, and Mediterranean cuisines. I bring that depth of knowledge together with a passion rooted in West African and Southern American traditions. As a self-proclaimed artist, food is my canvas—each event is a chance to express creativity in a way that feels both personal and memorable for not only the guest but myself as well.

I transform our clients visions into reality by listening to their preferences and aspirations. By gaining insight into the significance of their events, I ensure that every detail aligns with their expectations. Additionally, I ensure that the timeline remains on track, allowing guests to focus solely on enjoying the occasion without any concerns.

What aspect of guiding an event from concept to reality gives you the most fulfillment, and how do you ensure every detail resonates with warmth and elegance?

The most fulfilling aspect of my work is the ability to bring a client's vision to life through attention to detail. It brings me joy to know that I play a pivotal role in creating a unique, once in a lifetime event that will be cherished by all generations.

To create an immersive experience where, for a few hours, the outside world fades away. Whether it is a private dinner or a wedding, each occasion receives the utmost attention. I strive to remind guests to live in the moment and fully enjoy their time together.

Stephanie and Daniel are amazing. Stephanie is so supportive throughout the entire planning process. She went above and beyond what a typical caterer is expected to do—from figuring out the menu to helping us source table settings, lighting, and drink ware. She and Daniel made sure our guests with dietary restrictions were well taken care of. Stephanie and Daniel’s kitchen and waitstaff exhibited great professionalism and kindness. They were on top of everything, even with all the curve balls. The food and signature cocktails were DELICIOUS! The best food and drink we’ve ever had at a wedding. 10/10 would highly recommend Alchmy Catering.
